While she has favourites in every genre, it’s probably Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2 that falls closest to her heart. That piece embraces the composer’s heart and soul.

Aside music, she takes interest in other arts such as drawing and painting. Her works depict a world of fantasy. She loves to go hiking with her family during the few free weekends she has in a year. It’s the mountains and woods where she can truly recharge.

‘It is a great pleasure for me to play in an orchestra where on top of a high professional level we also have humanity and cohesion. We are friends, not just colleagues. We have plenty of concerts which may be exhausting, but we get to learn and play numerous works. My wishes for the 25th anniversary? (2018 – the ed.) Many joyful concerts, on and off stage.’

‘I love playing here; we are a seasoned community of well accustomed musicians. Already in my student years I played along many of them. The viola ensemble is especially cohesive, even outside work we can really count on each other.

I wish a similarly upbeat era of growth to the orchestra. To Gábor and my colleagues I wish strength and endurance for the years to come.’

Megyes, Krisztina

Megyes, Krisztina

She prefers not to choose a favourite composer: what feels best depends on her mood of the given moment. As a result she likes every musical style.

Her family consists of two children, Laura and Roland. Just like all mothers, she has a very special place for them in her heart.

‘I really love this community, since most people here are friends to me and not just colleagues. We are like a big family. What is also important for me is that I love life very much (most of the time!). I love to laugh, even at myself. After all, life is beautiful when there is joy to be had! My wishes for the world, the orchestra and myself? Love, patience and acceptance – I believe that’s all we need.’
