Bakay, Viktória

Member of the Orchestra since 2005. She began her music studies at the encouragement of her mother and grandmother, who, although they never learnt music, are regular concert and opera goers. Following two years of recorder and six years of violin, from secondary school onwards she went on to play the viola.

Her favourite composers are Béla Bartók, Bach, Richard Strauss and Stravinsky.

Her favourite pieces of music are Bartók’s Concerto, Richard Strauss’ Salome, Bach’s Mass in B Minor and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.

She has two beautiful sons, Keve and Bercel. In addition to her work at the orchestra, she runs a webshop with her partner selling Nepalese products.

‘Although the rehearsal periods are sometimes short but difficult, we always manage to pull a highly successful, quality and spirited performance. This is why I love to play the viola in the orchestra.

On the occasion of our 25th anniversary (in 2018 – the ed.), I wish the orchestra many more years to come filled with work and joy.’
