Borbély-Puskás Dr., Marica
She has been a member of the orchestra since 2006 but she had played here before as a substitute. First she played in the BDO when she was 15 years old. She is also a teacher and a lawyer.
Her favourite composer: Brahms, Tchaikovsky and other Russian composers.
Her favourite composition: She has many, she cannot pick one.
She is married, she has a daughter, Lilla.
Apart from playing in BDO, in 2013 she graduated summa cum laude in Law at Eötvös Lóránd University. Besides the work, it was a serious project to her, especially because it is a completely different field from music. She is happy that she could make it. It gave her strength and momentum for the further challenges.
„Playing in an orchestra is the best for me. Being a team player, I always imagined playing in this formation during my studies. The repertoire is versatile, and there are no limits regarding the genre. Our young and ambitious team is open to perform different musical styles so we really do what we like. I like the fact that we don’t “produce paper” but our work has a perceptible result: we give and receive experiences. The atmosphere is great, although sometimes in a period full of concerts –like in other workplaces- the tension might increase. However by the end it is good to see that everybody gives his/her best on the stage.
On the occasion of our 25th anniversary I wish for our conductor, the engine of our orchestra, Gábor health, energy, and endurance to be able to conduct us for a long time. I wish that this beautiful profession be finally appreciated in every respect as being a musician requires lots of practice since childhood. It is not about becoming “celebrity” all at once. I wish all of my colleagues to make many friendships, to play together in a joyful way, and to have a lot of wonderful concerts.”
