Hegyi, Gábor
Gábor was a member of the orchestra between 2009 and 2014, then he joined us again in 2018. When not playing in Dohnányi Orchestra he is a bass trombonist in the Szent István Király Symphony Orchestra and teaches at Szent István Király Music Secondary School and Music Elementary School.
Gábor is the proud father of a wonderful boy.
He has several favourite composers including J.S. Bach, G.F. Händel, W.A. Mozart, M.P. Mussorgsky, G. Gershwin and Frigyes Hidas, and a lot of beloved compositions, too. Pieces he enjoys both playing and listening to are M.P. Mussorgsky – M. Ravel: Pictures at an Exhibition and G. Gershwin: An American in Paris.
He repairs cars as a hobby and he is an avid collector of old timers.
‘Dohnányi Orchestra is my second home. This is where my career started, where I grew up, where I first met my wife. I established life-long friendships here. After a great many „twists and turns” in my life I finally returned. What else would you call it than home?’
